Dear Readers,
It was Wednesday morning and I found myself sitting on the carpet of the playroom at the local library singing popular children's tunes like "Wheels on the Bus" and "Old MacDonald."
Evangeline sat between my legs, bounced around and clapped along (with some help). She grew wide-eyed as she looked around the room and took in all of the musical stimuli and saw the other babies and toddlers moving around the room with their wobbly little legs. The other kiddos tried to touch her, talk to her in their own way and seemed interested in the "young one." I think social interaction with other babies and young children is generally a very good thing, especially for little ones that are home alone with a parent during the day. As I sat there on the carpet, I couldn't help but think... my, how life has changed.
On Wednesday mornings, I would typically be deep in meetings, developing presentations or jet setting to conferences or events in some large city around the country. For some reason on this day, I thought about all those trips I made to Washington, D.C. in the spring. I would visit the senators and congresspeople on The Hill and lobby for their support of pro-Employee Ownership legislation. I vividly saw myself confidently walking up The Hill with my portfolio and waiting in line for the metal detectors in each building. My days look different now with my muse. There is a right time for everything.
My, how life has changed.
