New parent reflections after one month

Dear Readers, One month down so time for new parent reflections. We’re all happy and healthy and starting to settle in to our new routines. And yes, time goes very quickly with little ones.

We decided to use the nickname Evie (pronounced E-V). I prefer Evangeline but it is cute and easier to spell and pronounce.

In a sense, I’m starting to feel like myself again. My body has quickly bounced back from surgery and my energy level is almost where it was pre-pregnancy. I never completely embraced my pregnant body, so I am happy to be “back.” On the other hand, my identity has completely changed as a woman and everyday life looks different than I am used to. My purpose is now tied to the well-being and development of a little girl. 🎀

For the first time in my life, I put career second. We deliberately took a bit longer to go down this road.
